Angkor Wat is a colossal Buddhist temple complex situated in northern Cambodia. One of the biggest Buddhist and Hindu temple of the world, which is built from stone in 15th century AD. Due to its grand size Angkor Wat has been placed in Cambodian National flag which truly shows the spirit of this wonder.

It was originally built in the first half of the 12th century as a Hindu temple. Spread across in excess of 400 sections of land, Angkor Wat is said to be the largest religious monument in the world.

It was worked by Emperor Suryavarman II, who ruled the region from 1113 to 1150, as the state temple and political center of his empire.

Originally dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, Angkor Wat turned into a Buddhist temple before the finish of the twelfth century.
